October is Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Month! In honor of this, SAPAC's Survivor Empowerment and Ally Support program is hosting a variety of awareness raising and educational events throughout the month.
Trauma Informed Yoga
What: This class will be trauma-informed. The class will not be heated (or very lightly heated), the lights will remain mostly on, the instructor will not touch you, and you can leave at any time. We gently encourage (but do not require) participants to bring a donation of $10 (or any amount) as "admission" to the class. All proceeds will go to SafeHouse Center. This event is open to all!
When: October 4th, 2019 from 4:15 to 5:15PM

Self Care Workshop
What: A Self Care Workshop facilitated by SAPAC volunteers aimed to create interactive spaces to engage in dialogue about life balance. Afterwards there will be an optional 45 minute art/writing workshop facilitated by FOKUS, a student org whose mission is to educate, empower, and unite communities through the arts. This event is open to all U of M students.
When: October 7th, 2019 from 7:30 to 8:15PM
Where: Palmer Commons, Great Lakes Room North
What: One purple flag will be placed in the Diag for every 10 survivors of intimate partner violence at the University of Michigan. Stop by our table to learn more about how to support survivors. We will have informational brochures along with stickers, buttons and candy.
When: October 24, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 4:00PM
Where: The Diag
Tabling Across Campus
What: Look for SAPAC tabling across campus in residence halls on Central and North Campus throughout the month of October. Stop by our table and talk to SAPAC volunteers to learn more about the resources we offer. We will have informational handouts along with stickers, buttons and candy.
