Once again this year, SAPAC is pleased to announce that it will be able to sponsor four to six students to attend the 2013 National Young Feminist Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. from March 23rd to 25th, 2013.

This is an amazing opportunity to connect with feminist student leaders from across the country, learn what other schools are doing to end sexual and intimate partner violence, share your ideas, and bring new opportunities to SAPAC.

Last year, SAPAC was proud to sponsor Nicole Corrigan, Courtney Gardner, Sam Horsell, Aisha Naseem, Megan Pfieffer, Emily Rion, and Persis Sopariwala. You can read about  their experience on SAPAC’s website.

Please note the following:

  • Students will need to share lodging as appropriate during the conference and lobby day.
  • Students will be responsible for providing their meals and subway transportation in Washington, DC.
  • We will provide funds to rent a university vehicle from the motor pool, but selected students will share responsibility for driving themselves to the conference or provide their own transportation.

If you’re interested in being sponsored by and representing SAPAC, please complete the application below.

2013 National Young Feminist Leadership Conference

Sponsored by the Feminist Majority Foundation, the 2013 National Young Feminist Leadership Conference will focus on the impact young women have when it comes to domestic and global issues. We hope you can join us!

On March 23rd and 24th, hundreds of students will come together at the Double Tree Crystal City for an amazing weekend of activist training and learning. We will dive into issues like abortion access, reproductive health and rights, youth voting rights and mobilization, global women's rights, sexual assault, LGBTQ+ rights, and MUCH MORE.

Additionally, we encourage you to stay for the optional third day of the conference on March 25th. At the Congressional Visit Day, conference participants gather on Capitol Hill to put everything they have learned at the conference into action, speaking with their Members of Congress about issues that matter to them!

Join young feminist activists from around the nation as we discuss some of today's most pressing issues, including reproductive justice, the environment, campus activism, violence against women, ballot measures, communities of color, and global women's rights and health.
