rEVOLUTION: Healing Through the Arts

Please join SAPAC’s SEAS (Survivor Empowerment and Ally Support) program for the opening night of our 17th annual art show: rEVOLUTION: Healing Through the Arts! This is a curated event that  promotes healing, visibility and awareness of sexual and relationship violence. 

The art gallery will be open for viewing  on Sunday, April 3rd from 4-6pm in Rackham, Assembly Hall, 4th floor.

Self-Love Y❤️ga with RED YOGA

Start off your weekend with some self-care through the art of yoga. Led by instructors from RED Yoga and hosted by SAPAC’s SEAS (Survivor Empowerment and Ally Support) program, this class will be dedicated to cultivating self-love and relaxing both the mind and body through trauma-informed yoga practices. 

During this session you will: 
~ Embrace and gain awareness of the energy in your body
~ Engage in intentional breathing and guided meditation 
~ Partake in Shavasana and Sound Therapy 

The Intersection of Sexual Assault and Survivor’s Health Panel

Join SAPAC’s Bystander Intervention and Community Engagement Program for a speaker panel dedicated to discussing how bystander intervention plays a role in sexual assault and survivor’s health. 

Time will be allocated at the end for a Q and A.

37th Annual SAPAC Survivor Speak Out

An open microphone event for student survivors of sexual and relationship violence to share their experiences. This event is  hosted by SAPAC’s SEAS (Survivor Empowerment and Ally Support) Program. All stories and all identities are welcome. 

Candlelight Vigil for LGBTQ+ Survivors of Sexual Violence

LGBTQ+ individuals are 4x's more likely to experience violent crime than non-LGBTQ+ individuals. 

Join SAPAC's  LGBTQ+ Outreach and Support Coordinators for a vigil intended to recognize the disproportional amount of sexual violence experienced by the LGBTQ+ community, as well as honor the resilience of LGBTQ+ survivors.

Sex Education from the Margins: Unpacking Consent and Healthy Relationships

SAPAC and MESA are excited to welcome HEART for a conversation on unpacking consent and healthy relationships as well as a discussion of their book Sex Talk: A Muslim’s Guide to Healthy Sex and Relationships! This event will also feature a panel of SAPAC students and HEART members as they dicuss their roles and impact, how intersecting identities shape decision making and thinking around sexuality and relationships, and more! Light refreshments will be provided! Event is open to all!

Speak Out is an open microphone event for student survivors of sexual and relationship violence to share their experiences. All stories and all identities are welcome. 

This event is open to all students of the University of Michigan community. You may speak live during the event or submit your story anonymously to be read aloud by a SAPAC representative.
