SAPAC's SEAS (Survivor Empowerment and Ally Support) program is now accepting submissions for our 18th annual art show!
SEAS is calling on all UM-affiliated artists (students, faculty, & staff) for submissions to be displayed in our annual art show, rEVOLUTION: Healing Through the Arts. Art of any medium is welcome. We are opening up the show to be for survivors and allies, by survivors and allies; as such, we encourage you to express your healing process as you authentically experience it.
The themes of our show are gender, sexism, sexual violence, empowerment, and healing. The topic of sexual violence can include sexual assault, intimate partner violence, sexual and gender-based harassment, and stalking.
Our goal with this event is to create and engage in a supportive community space for survivors where UM student allies and survivors will build empathy and an understanding of sexual violence and healing through the unique creative expression of survivor experiences and perspectives. Artistic expression provides a medium to bring up and process emotions and experiences in a way that can be difficult to discuss otherwise. Now more than ever we hope to provide a platform and resource that brings people together in healing.
Please fill out this form with your submission by March 15th.
If your work is accepted it will be displayed at the Rackham Graduate School in the Assembly Hall on Sunday, March 26th, 4-6 p.m.
If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. We look forward to seeing your art!
